Seven Who Made History is a podcast series for EVN Report profiling seven major Soviet Armenian personalities who continue to have made a lasting impact on post-Soviet Armenia. Hosted by historian Pietro A. Shakarian, the series examines the life and times of Aleksandr Myasnikyan, Shushanik Kurghinyan, Nersik Stepanyan, Aghasi Khanjyan, Stepan Shahumyan, Anastas Mikoyan, and Yakov Zarobyan. The historical experience of Soviet Armenia is conveyed through the lives of these figures, taking the listener from the revolutionary period to the era of Lenin’s New Economic Policy (NEP) to the Stalinist Purges and finally to the era of de-Stalinization.
