A diaspora based podcast chewing the fat on Caribbean Cricket. Hosted by Machel St Patrick Hewitt (@MashStPaddy) & Santokie Nagulendran (@santokie89)
The Guyana Amazon Warriors have won their first ever CPL title in 2023.
Machel and Santokie held a live show to chew up the highs and lows of CPL 2023.
Was the quality really low or was it a tournament worth watching?

In the first of a new series.
We look at each cricket territory in the Caribbean in detail with a special guest.
We start as we mean to go on with a deep dive into Guyanese cricket history featuring Basil Butcher Jr.
Basil's father needs no introduction in both Guyanese and West Indies cricket history and Basil was fortunate to grow up around cricket royalty.
He takes us on a tour de force of Guyanese cricket - this one is for all historians of West Indies cricket as well as those just seeking to understand cricket in the region a bit better.

By now you've probably seen the video or memes of Rahkeem Cornwall's run out in the CPL game between Saint Lucia Kings and Barbados Royals.
It's an incident that for many in the Caribbean was the last straw vis-à-vis the debate around Rahkeem and his preparedness for West Indies duty.
Machel jumped into the hot seat to look at the nuances of the Rahkeem Cornwall discourse.
After this episode was recorded Rahkeem went on to score a scintillating 100 which rather proved the point Machel was making but take the episode in all the same.

On the back of West Indies failure to make it out of the World Cup qualifiers group we wanted to talk to an aficionado of the associate cricket scene.
Shounak Sarkar of Emerging Cricket popped into the Caribbean Cricket Podcast Studio to explain why associate teams are catching up and surpassing the West Indies.

During the recently concluded World Test Championship final between Australia and India, we were fortunate to have the chance to sit down with new Cricket West Indies president, Dr Kishore Shallow.
Kishore has been in office for 100 days and we took the chance to have an in depth conversation with him about his vision and mission to rebuild West Indies cricket.
This is an episode for all stakeholders of the game and those who hold the fortunes of West Indies cricket close to their heart.

As part of the Windrush Caribbean Film Festival Machel had the pleasure of taking in 501 not out.
501 not out is a film by Sam Lockyer - call it an ode to Brian Lara.
It is a fantastic film with great archival footage and interviews that really encapsulates what that 501* meant to the world of cricket and how it elevated Brian Lara into a global superstar.
You can catch the next screening of the film at Electric Birmingham 12/08/2023 - 2pm.

We had to wait a while to speak on this one.
The West Indies wicket-keeper/batsman Devon Thomas has been charged by the International Cricket Council (ICC) with seven counts under the anti-corruption code and was suspended with immediate effect.
Machel wanted to fully assess the situation before adding his two pence on the situation.
How much do you agree with his assertions on this one?

A special one-off collaboration podcast episode.
Machel from the Caribbean Cricket Podcast linked up with DJ on the Edges & Sledges Podcast to do a thorough review of the recent West Indies vs India test series.
There were a few technical hitches along the way but we got to do a really detailed conversation on the intricacies of the test series.

Almost as soon as Daren Sammy was announced as the new West Indies white ball head coach the knives were out for him in many quarters.
This before we even consider the World Cup Qualifying debacle that the senior men's side went on to have.
Machel took a look at Sammy's credentials or lack thereof and why West Indies fans should give Sammy the benefit of the doubt regardless.
