The Adventure Paradox: Horses, Mountains & Dogs

Welcome to the show that is a game changer for you to choose your own adventure! On Mondays, certified coach and CEO of The Adventure Paradox, Cat Caldwell Myers shares a short minisode based on a principle needed to reach the mountain top. On weekends, we drop a full length episode featuring a guest.  Each conversation will bring you ever closer to the adventure that is seeking you, inside your soul, regardless of your current circumstances (the paradox).  Many have forgotten that the adventure is NOW - wherever we are, whatever is happening, and whoever we do it with, as much as it is all that we have done and all that we will do.  Animals and nature help us do this, as do connecting with teachers and the principles of adventure. We focus on goals and the realities that often keep us from attaining them, learning to master both in the fullness of "THE Adventure Paradox." Entrepreneurial Mothers, Caretakers and Women who crave elevated relationships and love animals and nature, will especially resonate with our message, community and offerings.  We offer writing and podcasting services to teach professionals how to get in to the top 3% of podcasts, publish a bestseller, find their voice and launch their purpose from anywhere in the world.  Please add our show to your library and share a review screenshot with us for a free gift!</p>

Guess what? I just had the most amazing chat with Nim Stant on the latest Adventure Paradox podcast! You know, the one where she shares her journey from Thailand to Arizona and how she's on a mission to light a fire under everyone's behinds?

As part of Authors' Week, we discussed Nim's books, "Go All In" and "The Yoga Journey," and it's like she's handing out nuggets of wisdom left and right. She's all about caring for her readers and never stopping the learning train. Oh, and get this – we didn't just talk about books. Nope, we got into the nitty-gritty of entrepreneurship, how to parent without losing your sanity, and how to kick fear in the butt and reach those big, scary goals.

But here's the kicker: Nim's commitment to self-care and staying true to your dreams, creates an infectious curiosity that just makes you wanna dive headfirst into whatever life throws at you.

And get this – she's not just about helping herself. Nim's doing some seriously cool stuff with other authors, helping them get their words out into the world. It's like she's this beacon of positivity and inspiration, shining a light on everyone around her.

Seriously, it's like chatting with your most motivating friend who's always got your back. Nim's gonna have you feeling like you can take on the world – and spoiler alert, you totally can!

'Tis the Season of Change, yet sometimes we keep holding on and don't recognize when it is time to let go. We rebound, or bounce.

In this episode I talk about some things that can help you KNOW when to let go.

Spoiler alert: one of them is hearing your own voice, especially when it is dragggging on about something. That is when you need to "let go (of something - it could be your own judgment, btw), or be dragged!"

This week we are doing something differently on The Adventure Paradox Podcast. As we host 10 authors LIVE on social media over the next two weeks, we will not necessarily be streaming our Monday minisode.  Instead, it may be recorded over the weekend, like this one was, on my iPhone!

Writing is an incredible portal to the soul and what it is we are really feeling. I love supporting people to get in to their actual feelings (Feel The Feelings!) without trying to override or change them. But sometimes it is tricky... it takes time to really understand why we feel a certain way and not bypass bad feelings for the "good vibes only" thing.

Enter: journaling, and not just for a few minutes, but for close to an hour. Our next guest on the show, coming up this weekend, Anna K. Morris, shares the 45 minute writing practice (come back to heat the rest of what she has to share!). This inspired my own journey in to this particular sensation, or feeling, and the idea of "writing through it" to get to the source of the "Oh."

What is the thing you don't want to write about? Set a timer for 45 minutes - no distractions, and GO. Join us LIVE on Social media the next two weeks for more tips!

We work with people we know, like and trust, as a friend reminded me not too long ago.

This is part of why podcating is such a remarkable platform - it gives you an opportunity to intimately get to know, like and trust your host and their guests in a friendly, non-commital way that takes out the visual (where 80% of our ideas come from). By doing this we get to return to our hearts, and what we truly feel in what we truly know, like and trust.

If podcasting calls to you, it's not too late to sign up for my course! Send me an email to learn more, or poke around my website:

Ever wanted to own a horse? Think all wild horses should just be left to roam free? If you had a horse of your own, how would your life change?

We cover all these questions and more as I piece together 3 men's voices from The Rocky Mountain Horse Expo.  This was one of my most creative podcasts because I had to do a lot of workarounds to improve the audio and create a seamless listening experience for my listeners that still conveys the essence of what is important in these conversations. Clearly, this is the tip of the iceberg, and it is my hope that this podcast will inspire you to go deeper in the adventure of animal ownership or whatever dream your heart really calls you, too.

After all, we only get this one life from what I've heard! So let's make the most of it, and make the most of the beautiful animals we are blessed to call home with us. Thank you to all of our guests and their special stories, and to animal lovers everywhere,

Here is an outline of who you will hear in this podcast and some links to learn more about each:

Tim Resch, from Estes Park Outfitters, followed up with a short zoom call with me during spring break when I discovered that his audio was inaudible and used AI for the original to make it work. You get to hear his real voice in the first 20 minutes of the podcast, and the story everyone is talking about:

"How he traded his wife for a horse!!"

You won't want to miss this one in the first half of this episode. You can find out more about Tim and how to visit him on your horse adventures here:

https://www.estesparkoutfitters.com/about-us

Around the second half of the episode, we hear from Matt Manroe, Executive Director of Mustang Champions about his experience of working with and training mustang horses in multiple disciplines. When I first met Matt, I thought he said that he had 2 million mustangs placed in his program (I misheard him - he was talking about a grant, I believe). But we both laughed and also considered, creatively, what might be possible if we could get mustangs in to every school and the hearts of school children across the nation. It would not only change the trajectory of the wild horses, the range, and the schools, it would change the trajectory of all humanity.

You will not want to miss hearing about the visionary competitions in The Kentucky Horse Park and Las Vegas Show Arenas that Matt has spearheaded. You can buy tickets, make donations and find out more here:

https://mustangchampions.org/

Finally, the third voice you hear, Kevin Lloyd, is a fellow Idaho-an who I'm looking forward to catching up with again at the Driggs rodeo this summer. His job is to capture, place and manage the wild horse herds in our state and region. He had a wealth of perspective and understanding of both the vision and the problems that we, as a nation, and mustangs, as a species, are facing. His passion for caring for the wild horses and leading them in to better lives, care and connections with humanity, especially youth, was beautiful to witness and hear about.

If you want connect with Kevin or learn more about how to find the education, training and possibilites inherent in owning a mustang or wild horse, click the article below:

Special thanks to Lisa Dierson who connected us to Julianne Neal (Camden, SC), of JA Media Productions, for the audio excerpt from her panel video for The Mustang Summ

What do you value? What will you spend $200 on? How about $2000? $20,000? Where do you feel $200,000? How would you take care of $2million? $20million? What about $2billion?

When I keep adding zeros, where do you feel the fear of not having it, or needing it or wanting it in your body? Or is it in your mind? What judgments come up?

Your value is beyond rubies, beyond zeros in the bank account. You are a child of God. You are valuable beyond measure!
