This is a place of Overcoming, Enoughness, and living an Expansive life. We are disrupting burnout culture. This is not another place where you feel like you have to do more, be more. This is where we have real converstaions, share stories, along with tips we have learned along the way. Each episode Kirsten shares with her 3 main co-hosts, as well as continuing to bring on additional special guests periodically. Jen the Life coach, Monique the French woman, and Kristy her fav Interior Design friend. Listen for doable, aspirational, and tangible takeaways...creating more capacity to expand in LIFE...head, heart, home, and travel dreams. P.S. We are more alike than we are different.
Today’s episode is a very important one. Today's special guest is Ranie Evans.
Ranie Evans courageously shares her journey losing her son Branden, who died by suicide just a few short years ago. Her sister Collette Brunson also joined Kirsten for this difficult discussion. Ranie talks us through the heartache no parent ever wants to experience……
Through the darkness, she decided to create more light. She shares how she started her nonprofit organization BE TREE...Committed to raising awareness around Mental Health and creating connection through community. Ranie is dedicated to talking openly about mental health. Talking is the first step. She shares her experience freely with others. She teaches at schools, as well as brings people together for yoga, while having therapists and resources available for those in need. Ranie is doing amazing things!!
Ranie shares the story how Branden had carved into an Aspen tree the “Life and HIPS”. She later found out what it meant: “Life & Hidden in plain sight”. He was fiercely loved with a beautiful life; yet, felt hidden in plain sight.
+How can you support someone struggling?
+What can you do if you are having feelings of hopelessness?
+How can you explore the beauty of breath and being still
+How does yoga help process emotions? How has it helped Ranie?
+Where to find support?
+How does grief change you?
+What are things you can do to help those grieving
This episode is for everyone! Ranie shares so many wonderful ideas we can all do right now to help our own mental health.
KEEP GOING…..We need YOU here.
You are NOT alone. No feeling is bigger than you.
“Here I am and there I always was”
This episode is Dedicated to Branden Evans.
We would love if you could tag be_tree_foundation on instagram everytime you see a beautiful tree and are reminded of Branden's story...reminder of the ripple affects of his life and the impact he has helping others. Thank you.

As adult children leave the home and transition into independent lives, it's a significant moment for both parents and children. Here are some pieces of advice for parents during this transition:
Embrace Change, Maintain Communication, Respect Their Independence, Offer Emotional Support, Celebrate Their Achievements, Create New Traditions, Foster Your Own Interests, Maintain Healthy Boundaries, Seek Support, Focus on Your Relationship, and Stay Positive.
Instead of dwelling on the empty nest, focus on the positive aspects of this transition. Reflect on the successful upbringing you provided and the exciting possibilities that lie ahead for both you and your children.
Remember that every family is unique, and this transition will unfold in its own way. By approaching it with understanding, support, and a positive attitude, you can navigate this phase while strengthening your relationships with your adult children.

Kristy spent the last 25 years working as a graphic designer to create great branding for businesses and now she is turning her attention to helping individuals with their personal brands — manifested in unique interiors and styling.
She also draw on her degree in art and architectural history (Bryn Mawr College), her design degree (California College of the Arts) and four years working in San Francisco-based architecture firms to create memorable and meaningful spaces for living and working.
Kristy is not all business. She has a great sense of humor, an empathetic approach and really treasures the relationships that she builds with her clients.
She grew up in Boise and I lives there with her husband Josh and menagerie of two dogs and two cats.

We are back!! Monique (the french lady) joined Kirsten in this oh so good episode talking about the concept of slowing down. What does it mean to "Live Slowly?"
In todays world we are always told to want more, do more, be more, have more....and only then will we be happy. How can we take simple steps to slow down whatever phase of life we are in?
Monique talks about her health diagnosis that forced her to make changes in her life. She shares with us her inspiration for her instagram account called Motustardus- which means slow in Latin. She says, "Life brought me exactly what I needed".
Kirsten shares about a book she read recently that talks about this concept called 'Chasing Slow'. In it the auther says," Many of us have come to a point in life where we feel weary. We have burdened ourselves with possessions, packed social calendars, busy work schedules- loads that are far too heavy to carry-yet we grip them with clenched hands."
Maybe we need to stop trying to paddle fast enough to outswim our sadness.

Today Jen and Kirsten interview a special guest!
At age 60 Kathy Holzer:
A competitive athlete turned PE teacher and coach for over 30 years- in a quest for creativity, picked up a keyboard, which led to a $2.50 watercolor set, which led to her discovering that she was an artist.
As an artist she has learned how to practice living without judgment,
Create without the fear of failure,
And the discipline of learning the technical aspects of art.
All while giving back to the community and inspiring others to do the same.
“To become human is to become visible. “
To put your art out into the world is to become highly visible.
We want to hear your takeaways from this episode.
Let us know!

Monique is here (recording from France!) with Kirsten talking all about the importance of spending time with girlfriends and time for yourself.
When we can prioritize connecting with other women in a deep and meaningful way, we share, unwind, and can breathe deeply for a moment...taking the weight off of our chest.
Women are so often the heart of the home, pouring so much of themselves into their homes, children, significant others, work, etc. It can get heavy at times.
We need longer time blocks where we have NOTHING to take care of but ourselves. Time that we think only of ourselves. This is how we recharge and are filled back up again to give more fully and from a good place.
Why does it seem so hard for women to take the time away?
Why do we struggle to let go of our responsibilities?
The kids and family WILL survive without you and teaching your kids to be self sufficient is a good thing.
Being able to transport yourself away from your normal everday life is important for renewal....Having a moment to have your own thoughts, listen, and be quiet.
Women understand women and the loads we carry, with much compassion for each other.
Don't forget the importance of making an effort with friendships. Priorize taking time for friends!
