Lots of Money: Deena & Cleena Weena the Lottery!

Deena and Cleena are two lifelong friends (who met in their 30s) living out of Toledo, Ohio where one day they hit the literal jackpot and won 500 MILLION DOLLARS. Equipped with their shared windfall, limited business acumen and overpriced podcasting equipment, these kooky ladies are opening their doors to hear pitches and proposals from eclectic entrepreneurs on how they can shrewdly invest their winnings...but it’s not so simple. Each episode they’ll dive deep into their guests’ lives and expertise with hard-hitting, sometimes flirty questions before finally forcing them to compete in twisted, gladiatorial bouts of silliness (aka games). The winner will walk away with their seed capital and a Diet Coke but everyone will leave with a capital F for FUN. Welcome to Lots of Money: Deena & Cleena Weena the Lottery! Hosted by: Anna Bezahler & Stephanie Burchinow Produced & Edited by: Jason Adesman Music by: @philfamous Art by: Anna Bezahler

Us here at D&CWtL love talking about our breaks and this blurb is no exception. "We're back!"

Deena & Cleena jump back in with a bang by submitting a formal apology to their book club before making history with our entrepreneur contestants. For the first time in podcasting history (probably, we will not do our own research) we bring a family together. Young punk musician, Conner C (Austin Williams), needs money to fund his emo album at Capitol Records and naturally the pitch leads to discourse on Minion butts. Then his divorced dad, Conner Sr. (Angela Giarratana), armed with a brash attitude towards women and a day job at Verizon, shares his dream to push Gnome merch and community around the globe. Then we call their references to do our due diligence and end on a heartwarming, Cats and the Cradle-esque collaboration.

Like the McRib sometimes, we're BACK! And with an announcement...the ladies will be traveling the world and country so going forward we'll be recording on Zoom. It's going to be so seamless and not complicated for us at all so you may not notice, but we're nothing if not honest on this show.

This week we still have amazing guests in studio slanging up some high concept and high yield pitches. First up, Ladybell Johnson (Nick Tiffany) is at war with The Rats and is in need of artillery. Then the aptly named entrepreneur with a chic mononym, Wood (Derek Mari), is out of the forest and looking to get in on the mystery series biz with his everyday program tackling society's small questions. The two then need to phone some friends in our new segment, Get Your References!

We're back this week and we're so sorry we betrayed your trust of a weekly episode delivery! But Deena and Cleena have a reasonable and patriotic excuse which they address up top. Then it's right back to investing starting with Connie Mann (Avery Girion), a savvy southern lady who tries to hook up the gals with "lottery protection insurance" with a personal touch. Up against her is Cash Warren who wants $400K to live out a Stand By Me style fantasy with a splash of luxury. It comes down to the non-sponsored game "Not Really Strangers" where D&C (not Diet Coke, also not sponsored) ask core-cutting questions. Dive on in!

Deena & Cleena are back and almost immediately start talking Summer classics like leg hair and lemonade stands. Then Jersey Shore local, Parker Harbor (Alex Maystrik), comes in with a humble request to help finance the removal of a dastardly neighbor. He's up against "genuine guy", Dr. Pascal(Pablo Hernandez) who is the inventor behind an everyday device that tells you what percent racist you are - a wonderful minefield to tap dance around. And this week's deal breaking / making game is a series of intense, therapy-style questions (and spoiler, a side of role-play!) that cracks our guests wide open leaving their souls bare. It's hilarious!

This week Deena and Cleena talk with Suzy Silverstone (Anja Boltz) about her mission to create the perfect meme & with former (disgraced) detective Salty Cashquarter (Aricia Skidmore-Williams), who is looking to start the first international spy school for regular looking folk! We dive into what exactly makes a good meme and make some strong accusations towards Justin Timberlake’s involvement in a city bus stabbing spree. Then we introduce a BRAND NEW GAME that Deena recently splurged on called We’re Not Really Strangers.

What's more American than spending your hard-earned lottery winnings to start companies in a cut throat capitalistic arena? In that case every episode is technically 4th of July themed so don't ask us why this one specifically isn't! Deena & Cleena bring on stalker turned friend, Corgi Bensa (Anisha Jagannathan), and later Bert Garbageman (Ezra Partier) asks for cash to get his trashy superhero origin story off the ground - but not until he apologizes for wronging Deena's niece. All this and a new game segment, Day in the Life!

In this landmark 10th episode, Deena and Cleena are all business and more importantly all pleasure. They welcome on Dick Monalds (Dickie Copeland), S-double-VP at Blackrock - no, not the record company - who almost drives a wedge between the gals by flirting hard on his way to a very soft pitch. And then world class perfumer, Torfáni (Ryan Rosenberg), stinks up the joint with his weaponized spritzes and European condescension. The two then go head to head for an investment pageant style facing softball interview questions normally reserved for Miss America contestants. Will there be a winner or will Deena & Cleena immediately fold under the question, "maybe both deal?"

The Warren Buffetts of Toledo are back! Deena and Cleena start off sharing deep wisdom and confronting some childhood rollerskating trauma. Then Terry McClintock (Ryan Coil) helps define a romcom with his pitch on a You've Got Mail inspired theme park. He's challenged by mutual friend of their absent husbands, Dirk Nutterbaum (Allyson Phillips), who boldly pitches an elaborate enterprise designed to scare spouses stuck at home with convincing rouses that are meant to distract them from their loneliness. And listen to the end for our fan favorite game, J'Accuse!, which makes a semi-successful return!

This week Deena & Cleena try to empower the youth of Toledo. Out of the mouth of babes, Martin McDougal (Sydney O'Toole) and Little Wally (Phil Arliss), come two precocious pitches. Martin wants to invent an app that translates Taylor Swift's lyrics while Little Wally is looking to hire a local tough to intimidate his own father. The two then duke it out in the audio equivalent of a school yard brawl to determine a winner, and all this while Cleena records horizontally due to her bad back!

This week Deena and Cleena learn a lot: Deena learns biscuits aren't just for dogs and Cleena discovers the difference between a rude and an offensive question. And it's all thanks to our wonderful guests Leaf Waffle (Jake Jabber) and their friend's daughter, Tracy (Allyn Pintal). Leaf has a breakfast invention and a storied past, and Tracy wants the ladies to invest in her future as a partier. Then the heat turns up in a brand new game of finger pointing called "J'accuse!" and not even our hosts are safe. Listen in!
